HITEC City, the technology town of Hyderabad

HITEC City is a major technology township at the centre of Information technology industry of Hyderabad which is an abbreviation of Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City spread across 151 acres of land under the Suburbs of Madhapur and Gachibowli.

When India started witnessing IT revolution in Bangalore, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh released the need for infrastructure in Hyderabad to attract investments of several IT companies. The project was commissioned initially with L&T Infocity and after the success of this project several other software companies started investing in HITEC City. HITEC City is built in several phases such as Cyber Towers, Cyber Gateways, Mind Space, The V Ascendas IT Park, Cyber Pearl and many more.

Phases of HITEC City

·         Cyber Towers – Cyber Towers is the first phase of HITEC City. The building of these towers is divided into 4 quadrants with a fountain in the middle of the quadrants and with total 10 floors. Cyber towers consists many software companies such as Keane, Microsoft, Patni Computer Solutions, Oracle Corporation, GE capital and many more.

·         Cyber Gateways – Cyber Gateways is the second phase of the city which is having a huge arch in front of the tower is gateway to both, that is to this tower as well as to the whole HITEC City and that is why this phase is called as Cyber Gateways. Cyber Gateways is designed for BPO and ITES companies. Many companies such as Dell Inc, General Electric, Capitol Records and many are located here.

·         The V, Ascendas IT Park – This phase of HITEC Cit is spread over 20 acres of land and has five multi tenant buildings namely Mariner, Auriga, Orion, Capella and Vega. About 10 acres of land of this phase is used in environment friendly landscape gardens. The phase accommodates about 15000 IT professionals.

·         Mind Space IT Park – This phase was envisioned by Raheja group which identified the need for the world class environment and ecosystem to foster great business ideas. Mind Space is spread over 110 acres of land comprises several buildings and several companies such as Accenture, Mahindra Satyam, IBM, Novartis, Computer Sciences Corporation, Bank of America and many more.

There are many more phases are constructed in HITEC City that contains many software companies as well as many other companies also.

HITEC City is about 10 to 11 km from the city center and 14 km from airport and local railway station is about 3 km because of which transportation to HITEC City is very easy and the region is well connected to all parts of the city. Buses run by APSRTC are well connected to this area and you can find number of buses to reach here. Taxis and auto rikshaws are also available.

Many business travelers used to visit this city and therefore hotels is the prime need of this region and there are number of good hotels and lodges are located that provides excellent facility to their customers. Hotels in this region range from budget to five stars and you can find number of good hotels in this region.
