Shirdi, The famous town in Maharashtra




Shirdi is the very famous town in India which is mainly known for the Temple of Sai Baba which is build over the  samadhi of Sai Baba. It is the sacred town in Maharashtra which is located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India. 

In 1922, after the death of Sri Sai Baba, the beautiful Shrine was built in Shirdi over the the Samadhi of Sai Baba . Later on It is developed into the temple of Sai Baba. Large number of followers of Sai Baba visit the Shirdi and on every year very high amount of donation is done by the devotees due to which it has become one of the richest temple organization in India.



It is said that Sai Baba entered Shirdi at the age of 16, at starting he found shelter in Khandoba temple, Later on he started living in mosque. Sai Baba remained in Shirdi till his Death . When he came in Shirdi one of the villager recognized him as a Muslim saint and greeted him as a ' Ya Sai', means welcome Sai.

Sai Baba was Indian spiritual guru who taught the moral code of love, happiness,sympathy, forgiveness, charity, and devotion to god. His teaching contained elements from both Hinduism and Islam. And because of this he has the followers from both Hindus and Muslim. Many people believed him as the embodiment of lord Shiva. Even today the Samadhi of Sai Baba is visited by number of people from all over the world.


Sai Baba was the greatest admiration and inspiration for the people of India. As he was the very famous saint in India . Most of the people follows his ideologies. And because of this this beautiful holy place is visited by number of devotees. To help the devotees and to maintain the ambiance the committee is formed which helps them for the lodging and boarding . 

It also provides lunch and breakfast facility . But, as this place remain very crowded through out the year most of the devotees prefer hotels to stay . There are lots of Hotels near Shirdi Templewhich provide good facility along with great ambiance in your budget.
