Viman Nagar is an area which is located , in the eastern side of Pune. It is the place which is near from Pune airport, and Pune Station. The area of Viman Nagar is very opulent and important area in Pune. It got its name from the Air Force station which is located next to it. There are number of future upgrades for Pune Airport like AAI has invest 20 crore in 2012 for various expansions like new administrative office near entrance, new hangars, renovation of runway, expansion of terminal building, and New Cargo Terminal.

Pune Metro Rail Project is also proposed which will connect this airport to Vanaz via Deccan Gymkhana. This project is expected to start in 2015.
