Ironically, when the British Raj ended in 1947, this colonial symbol also became a sort of epitaph: the last of the British ships that set sail for England left from Gateway of India. Haji Ali Dargah:
It is better you check tide tables before you visit this tourist spot. Haji Ali Dargah is a must to visit place of Mumbai city. It is a tomb of the Muslim saint Haji Ali, which lies several hundred meters off the coast right in the middle of the sea. The only way to reach Haji Ali is a tiny causeway that connects it to the city. During high tide this small causeway is submerged into the sea. It is mostly visited by Mumlims, but non-Muslims are also welcome at Haji Ali Dargah to join the thousands who pay homage to the saint every day.
